Mountain Disco Continued
October 22nd, 2012
The Mountain has released an updated list of items that will not be in next year's catalog. This time that list includes all Sun Dresses and the entire Organic line. |
As often seems the case, there are personal favorites that we are very sad to see go (including two that have been around for a decade), so we urge fans of this wonderful studio to check for any designs that you might want to grab before they are gone for good. |

Mountain Surprise
September 9th, 2012 |
The Mountain has just released 28 new designs in a special late-summer supplement to their 2012 catalog. There is a strong emphasis on Halloween and horror (particularly zombies). Perhaps to atone for these dark designs, there are also four unicorn shirts, and four with kittens. Awww... |
The other feature of this release are the first in a new series for The Mountain: The Find It Series by Steven Michael Gardner. His nature artwork each contain many hidden images, inviting you to see how many you can find. |

Great things have been happening over in the Land of The Dead of late: from fresh Furthur shows and hot times at The Gathering, to lots of cool new Deadhead gear. The living is, indeed, easy.
New to our shelves are Grateful Dead tapestries... back to school, and all that. Ah, sweet nostalgia.

Stickers
February 4th, 2011 |
Folks have been requesting stickers for years now. Given issues of packing stickers with T-shirts, I dragged my feet a bit, but after weeks of planning and several days scanning like a madman, there are now over 100 decal and sticker designs in stock. Thank you for your feedback, and for your patience. |

Mountain Rising
January 11th, 2011 |
By now, many of you are likely familiar with The Mountain's celebrated release of their new catalog in January. This year boasts about twelve dozen (can't bring myself to call them a gross) new designs to be released over the next six weeks or so. You can see those that are available now at the link below. |

New from Native Northwest
December 12th, 2010 |
Our Native Northwest collection has long been a labor of love at Dharma Rose. This beautiful artwork by native artists from the Pacific Northwest is the most sublime in our entire collection. |
We are pleased to announce a release of nine new designs from this unique studio, including two youth shirts, our first Native Northwest long-sleeve shirts, and even a zippered hoodie. Just in time for your next potlatch. |

Fall Dead - December 10th, 2010 |
Our holiday traffic is a just a little slower this year, which is actually a good thing as it has given us just enough breathing space to put up more new deadhead threads than we can shake a stick at. There are over thirty items here, so apparently our stick-shaking abilities drop off drastically after a couple-dozen. |
We scratched our head over the new Shiva Crescent shirt and hoodie at first, but then realized that this particular deity really knows how to dance and shake his bones. |
Also newsworthy are eight new onesies for your bundle of joy (or that of family or friend). |

Mountain 2011 Preview
November 26th, 2010 |
The Mountain has released a couple-dozen beautiful new shirts to preview their upcoming 2011 collection. As of today, there are still three more to come (including the owl and dragon shirts shown below). Given how great those two are, we are taking this as a lesson in patience all the while hoping they come soon. Cognitive dissonance. |

Long Sleeve Shirts Return to The Mountain
July 1st, 2010 |
The start of summer has heralded the final piece in The Mountain's 2010 collection. These are not a repeat of their old long-sleeve shirts they discontinued several years ago. Instead they are a fashion-forward garment: an extension of their Evolution line with the soft-cotton fabric, stylish loose cuffs, and unique dyes. |

Thomas Kinkade
February 25, 2010 |
One of the most popular artists of our time comes to The Mountain |
Thomas Kinkade's beautiful and detailed paintings have captivated a devoted audience beyond any other contemporary artist who comes to mind. The artist personally approved an actual shirt of each painting before they could be sold to ensure that they met his exacting standards. |

Baieido Incense |
Traditional and Contemporary Incense from a Revered Studio |
Baieido has been crafting fine incense for over three and a half centuries for our practices, and for our homes. Their traditional blends are truly sublime, and we are equally impressed with their contemporary scents. Black Coffee and Green Tea are burned almost daily in our office. |

Signs Of An Early Spring From The Mountain?
February 2nd, 2010
We don't know much about groundhogs and shadows, but The Mountain has already printed all their new Classic adult and youth T-shirts, with the remaining dozen Evolution and Organic shirts scheduled in the next two weeks. Given that they didn't finish last year until May or June, this has to mean that T-shirt weather is just around the corner! Right?!? We are so impressed with the new art, that we have created an extensive gallery for your viewing pleasure. |

Dharma Rose Mobile?!
January 24th, 2010 |
True confession time here: I don't even own an old-school brick-style cellphone, let alone one of these whizbang internet-ready techno-phones or touch-thingies. But, each of our three sons do own such devices, and encourage me to at least bring Dharma Rose into the 21st century, even if I remain a neo-Luddite. |
So I am trying to offer a skinny version of Dharma Rose to our wireless friends out there. I have always tried to make the site as beautiful as possible (a sign of the frustrated artist within), and have voraciously consumed screen real-estate, so I have only been able to reduce to a 480 pixel width. |
Please let me know if these pages are helpful, or if they are merely frustrating (and why). I will certainly continue the Dharma Rose Home (screen-hog) Version! Any suggestions are most welcome. The most robust section so far is our Mobile Grateful Dead store, but be warned you will be able to get places that are not yet (ahem) finished, so please accept my apologies in advance. |

The Folks Behind The Art On Our Fronts
January 9th, 2010
Having tried to eke out a living as an artist when I was fresh out of school, I can appreciate the dedication as well as talent demanded by that career path. As a demonstration of my appreciation and respect for their collective works, I have created a series of pages where you can browse shirts by the artist who designed them. Now, when a shirt by a particular artist catches your eye, you can click on the name to see all their designs.

Magnetic Northwest
December 3rd, 2009
Those who have been with us for a while know that our Native Northwest line is a labor of love. We only offer what we have in stock as we import these beautiful items from Canada. The powerful artwork by Native Americans from the Pacific Northwest is truly unique, and we find it well worth the extra effort and expense.
Our latest additions to this fine line are quality magnets made in Canada (about 3" in size), and two new shirt designs. |

We have paired this noble incense with a collection of beautiful ceramic burners hand-crafted by three Colorado studios. |

Clothing With a Conscience
June 21st, 2009
Dharma Rose is thrilled to welcome a unique studio into our family. Earth Creations is dedicated to combining fashionable design with a conscience.
Their shirts are made in the USA, sewn in rural Alabama where their workers are paid a fair wage and work in a clean and safe environment. They use sustainably grown fibers, primarily organic cotton and hemp, for their fabrics. Earth Creations has pioneered a unique low-impact clay-dyeing process that uses no artificial chemicals, nor any salt. |
It is truly our privilege to share these quality garments. |

Summer Tunes
(and the living's easy)
June 20th, 2009
Since The Dead's acclaimed tour over the past couple of months, there has been a flurry of nostalgic Grateful Dead clothing for Deadheads of all ages. They include our first-ever shirt featuring Pigpen, and the classic Dancing Moose shirt from the first Highgate show. |
Woodstock was August 15-17 forty years ago, (yes, that makes us feel a little bit old, but mostly still grateful after all these years). In honor of this auspicious anniversary there are three new shirts (in addition to our classic Woodstock 1969 selections). |
There are also a few other, eclectic, music-related shirts worthy of your wardrobe since our last newsletter. |

The Mountain's Tank Top Dresses
Redefining Casual Comfort
Since The Mountain released the first of their new tank dresses in late March, these have been flying off the shelves, and we have had a very hard time keeping in synch with their availability. The Mountain has been working overtime this week, and expects that they may have finally caught up with demand. |
Each dress is made from a beautiful medium weight, 100% ring-spun “soft-style” cotton. It's then dyed with our organic dyes and printed with water-base ink for maximum body breathability. Which means the cotton and the print become one after the first wash. |
Our dresses are fashion forward in design, double stitched for added strength, with a reinforced slit on the sides to allow for maximum comfort and mobility. |

Our New Cart
August 31st, 2008
Welcome to the new Rose...
Our brand new and improved cart went live on August 6th. So far, so great. The wrinkles have been slight, and we continue to discover new benefits. There may well be significant issues yet to be solved, but at this point it appears to be well worth the investment. |
This cart allows you to create a customer account, reducing the chances of typos (we get invalid e-mail addresses weekly, making it hard to keep that customer updated on their order), and making future visits a snap. These accounts remember your contact and shipping information (including multiple shipping addresses), but not your financial information. |
When you create one of these accounts, you will automatically be enrolled in our new frequent shopper program. Your customer account will automatically track these Dharma Points, and periodically we will send you a gift certificate or credit once you have accrued a certain number of points. |
These customer accounts also allow for discounts, so... For the month of September, all registered customer accounts will automatically receive a 5% discount. When you sign up for our newsletter, you will get a 10% discount for September after we have moved you to the newsletter group (this usually takes 2-3 days). |

I probably should have listened to our eldest son in 2004 when he insisted we had to check out the latest and hippest network on the face of the web, but given my lingering use of the word "hippest," clearly I was not ready. Better-late-than-never, Dharma Rose has finally joined the Facebook revolution. I have lots to learn before I can develop the page so it becomes a vibrant nexus for fans, friends, and family, but in the mean time, you are invited to visit and leave comments and reviews, and by all means become a fan! |

At Dharma Rose, we very much value your peace of mind as well as your business. We work hard to make your shopping experience as convenient and comfortable as possible. |

Who Be Cool?
May 5, 2005
Dharma Rose recently invested in a new store front by purchasing a premium domain from a reseller. We feel that we are waaay cooler than most of the sites who show up when you Google "cool shirts"; if you agree, you can help us out in a big way by linking to www.cool-shirts.com. |
Dharma Rose always welcomes links from its satified customers; it is a big help in keeping us viable compared with those huge, impersonal, commercial sites with enormous advertising budgets. It doesn't have to be from a big, fancy site; links from family, personal, hobby, niche sites are all welcome -- every link helps! You can help spread the good word by linking to our new store front at http://www.cool-shirts.com, and of course here at home: http://www.dharmarose.com. Thank you! |
